Tuffman Sorting Systems are perfect for anyone starting up a new material recovery facility (MRF), or wishing to expand or improve an existing facility. An MRF is a plant that receives, separates and prepares recyclable materials for end-user manufacturers. Most commonly, an MRF will consist of a single stream of material to be sorted. The materials travel on a conveying system manned by workers known as pickers who are each assigned to pick a different type of material off the line, thus separating waste from recyclables and commingled recyclables into groups of plastic, aluminum, glass, paper, etc. With all of the money that can be saved by using this type of facility, MRFs are popping up nationwide.
