Recycling Equipment Specials – Deal of the Day and Price Reduction Offers!

Shred-Pax Model AZ 45 Shredder

This Deal of the Day heavy-duty dual shaft shear shredder is powered by two 20 hp, 480 V, 3-phase electric motors. The cutting chamber is 43” x 20” and contains 42 – 1 ½ inch knives. The hopper opening is 56” x 66”. This Shred-Pax shredder is in good condition and comes complete with stand and controls.

Use of a slow-speed, high-torque shredder, such as the Shred-Pax Model AZ 45 Shredder, over a high-speed grinder offers a variety of advantages. Slow-speed shredders do not require as much material preparation because they can handle contaminated material. Their drive durability makes them hard to damage, ensuring years of high-quality output. They produce less dust, noise and projectiles, creating a safer work environment, and their low vibration means no special foundations are required. Low-speed shredders even save on energy costs because they use less power than high-speed shredders and grinders.

Presona Model LP 50 VH2 Horizontal Baler with Auto-Tie

Balers condense misshapen material into a small, easy to manage cube of bale. After the compaction cycle is finished, the baler opens, releasing the compressed material. This process drastically reduces the cost of transportation and storing of the material because baled waste takes up significantly less space than loose waste. This makes balers useful in almost any industry. Balers that are used properly and for a specific purpose always yield great paybacks and create a safer work environment. Use of a baler helps companies comply with recycling regulations regarding the disposal of large-scale recyclables. Many services will not pick up huge bags filled with bottles and cans or stacks of cardboard, but will happily transport bales.

The Deal of the DayPresona Model LP 50 VH2 Horizontal Baler with Auto-Tie produces a 43″ wide x 29.5″ high x variable bale at a capacity of 50 tons per hour. It has a five-wire auto-tie. Applications include, but are not limited to paper, cardboard, newsprint, magazines, plastic wrap, PET, aluminum and tin cans, household waste and shredded industrial waste.

Marathon Model TR-10/50 2-Ram Auto Tie Horizontal Baler

Horizontal balers are able to compress material tighter than vertical balers are often capable of and can handle larger amounts of material, making them ideal for industries and businesses that produce large quantities of recyclable waste and wish to bale this waste often. Their large intake capacity gives them an advantage over vertical balers when it comes to compacting bulky waste, such as boxboard and other fibrous materials. Horizontal balers can usually run automatically and continuously, and their top openings make them easily loadable by a forklift or conveyor.

The Price Reduced to SellMarathon Model TR-10/50 2-Ram Auto Tie Horizontal Baler is powered by 50 hp, 230/460 V, 3-phase electric motor. The typical bale size is 31″ x 45″ x 64″ in a 22 second cycle time. The main ram is 10″ bore, 7″ rod with 235,000 lb force, and the eject ram is 8″ bore, 4.5″ rod with 150,800 lb force. The baler includes a Jam-free relief system, an electrical disconnect, upper and lower photocells, a tongue and groove floor, a U.S. wire tier, a table hopper with view door and a high-efficiency power unit with multi-stage pump. The controls include an operator keypad, programmable baling modes and plain English diagnostic readout.

Innovator Trommel Screen

Trommel Screens are vital for any type or sifting or separation work. As material passes through the screened cylinder, the smaller particles pass through the openings while the larger pieces are kept inside, thus separating the material by size. Trommel screens are useful in a variety of jobs, including compost production and the separation of sand/gravel, lumber mill by-products and MSW. The screens separate the biodegradable fraction of mixed MSW and separate smaller debris such as broken glass from larger recyclables, making them a practical addition to any material recovery facility. Beyond MRF sites and recyclables sorting, trommel screens are useful in excavation sifting.

This Price Reduced to Sell Innovator Trommel Screen is perfect for processing wet and difficult to screen compost materials. It can separate debris into top soil to be sold to farms, nurseries and site-work, and rock to be cleaned and used for aggregates and landscaping. This allows contractors to reuse or resell waste rather than paying transportation and disposal fees. This trommel screen is constructed of a screened cylinder maintained in a heavy-duty shell and comes equipped with a smart operator system including drum speed and charge conveyor monitors, master emergency shutdown, engine function and screen controls, and engine rpm, engine water temperature and engine oil temperature monitors. As material passes through the screened cylinder, the smaller particles pass through the openings while the larger pieces are kept inside, thus separating the material by size. Trommel screens are also used to separate the biodegradable fraction of mixed MSW and separate smaller debris such as broken glass from larger recyclables. The Innovator Model 7221 Trommel Screen is 21’ long with a 72” diameter and comes equipped with 11 cubic yard charge hopper and 26′ long x 30″ wide belt stacking conveyors.

Astec Portable Soil Remediation Unit

Soil remediation is the process of removing petroleum contaminants such as gasoline, kerosene and fuel oil from soil. As the first step in the process, the soil is heated in a rotating drum to a temperature high enough to vaporize the contaminants in the soil but not high enough to burn or incinerate it. The vaporized gases and dust, a result of the heating and tumbling in the rotary drum, are routed into an air pollution control device, such as a baghouse, that acts similar to a vacuum cleaner bag. The gases, including hydrocarbons released from the soil (hydrocarbons are organic compounds found in petroleum products), are vented next to an afterburner or thermal oxidizer that destroys 99% of the released hydrocarbons, restoring the vapors to a CO2 and H2O makeup before releasing them into the atmosphere.

This Deal of the DayAstec Portable Soil Remediation Unit consists of multiple units working together to form a complete soil remediation process. The primary components of this system are an Astec Portable Rotary Dryer and a Standard Havens Portable Baghouse. The system also contains a feed system with hopper, material transfer center and feed conveyor; a water-cooled solid discharge auger; cyclone acting as the primary dust collector and a water-cooled evaporative scrubber with heat exchangers, pumps and blower. The Astec kiln serves as the primary treatment unit, with a refractory-lined dryer with burner, combustion blower and controls serving as the secondary treatment unit. The treatment units heat the soil to a temperature high enough to destroy all the contaminants, but not so high that the soil is incinerated. This way, the newly-cleaned soil can be mixed with fresh soil to be recycled back into the environment to be reused, rather than being landfilled or destroyed in an incinerator.

Proto Grind Model 1200 Portable Horizontal Grinder

The Price Reduced to Sell Proto Grind Model 1200 Horizontal Grinder is tough enough to handle difficult to grind material such as concrete block, concrete reinforced pipe, brick, asphalt, cinder blocks, C&D waste, timber, railroad ties and other bulky materials. This versatile grinder is widely used in the asphalt recycling, wood recycling, shingle recycling, construction debris recycling, plastic recycling, MSW recovery and E-waste recycling industries. The Proto Grind Model 1200 Horizontal Grinder is one of the few grinding machines with the ability to reverse the drum. This unit has only 338 hours of use, is in good condition and is currently being offered as a special price reduction deal.

It is a key piece of equipment in an extremely environmentally and economically profitable industry: asphalt and asphalt shingle recycling. Asphalt is 100% recyclable, and recycling the asphalt-cement in shingles benefits asphalt producers by reducing AC costs and improving the quality of their product, as well as reduces the nation’s dependency on foreign sources of oil and clears up valuable landfill space for products that can’t be recycled and reused. Asphalt shingles can be recycled into a variety of products, including hot mix asphalt, cold patch, dust control on rural roads, temporary roads and driveways, aggregate road base, new shingles and fuel.
