Between the office remodel fully underway, client visits and the constant movement of equipment in and out the door, last week was no exception. Some highlights of equipment sold include a System Tow Platform 27’ Scissor Lift, a New York Blower Induction Fan, an Al-Jon Model LC-90 Lid Crusher, a Cyclone with Blower, and a Rapid Model 1485K Granulator.
Scissor lifts, such as the System Tow Platform 27’ Scissor Lift, are great for jobs where less reach is needed, but more workspace and lifting capacity is required. Their platforms provide a larger work area and can handle heavier loads than a boom lift. They can easily maneuver in tight spaces and work great for any construction, maintenance or installation job, making them the ideal solution to increase work site productivity. As an added bonus, scissor lifts are known for their low noise levels and can be used for both indoor and outdoor jobs.
A blower induction fan, such as the New York Blower Induction Fan, is required to pull hot gasses through the heat exchanger and into the flue vent in a gas heating or furnace device. This model comes equipped with motor coupling, straight bore, drain & drain plus, flanged inlet & outlet and ceramic shaft seal. It has a heating capacity up to 800 ½ degrees F.
Al-Jon crushers, such as the Al-Jon Model LC-90 Lid Crusher, are greatly beneficial to anyone working in the auto recycling/ salvage industry. The auto recycling industry plays an important role in the conservation of natural resources through the recycling and reuse of vehicle parts and scrap metal. With scrap steel and iron prices averaging around $250 per ton, not only is the industry environmentally friendly, it is also profitable. Around 65% of a junked car is steel and recycling this metal uses up around 75% less energy than making new steel. Buying recycled steel is cheaper too because new ore does not have to be mined to produce it. With all steel today made up of at least 25% recycled steel, and the number of products made of solely recycled steel increasing, recycling cars has become a vital link in the world’s industrial infrastructure. This fact shows how lucrative a business the auto recycling industry is.
A dust collector, such as the Cyclone with Blower, is commonly used with an oxidizer as the final step in the soil remediation process. The vaporized gasses and dust, a result of the soil heating and tumbling in the rotary drum, are routed into the dust collector, which acts as an air pollution control device. The dust collector filters and collects the dust, similar to a vacuum cleaner, and passes the collected material to the dryer’s discharge system where it is mixed with the clean soil and recycled, while the vapors pass through the oxidizer in order to be safely admitted into the atmosphere.
Granulators, such as the Rapid Model 1485K Granulator, are used in the reclamation and reprocessing of plastic material. Unlike other items thrown away on a daily basis such as paper waste and food waste, plastics are not biodegradable, so landfills accumulate large amounts or plastic jugs, bottles and bags. A granulator can be used to shred this material into tiny flakes called granules, making it reusable and reducing the pileup in landfills. Not only is this method environmentally friendly, it is also cost-effective because not only does the company reduce their disposal costs, there is also money to be gained in selling the raw material to manufacturers who will reshape it into new plastic products. This process saves money, time, capital landfill and space.
